Tim Jennings, MD, is the Adult Medical Director of Honey Lake Clinic. Throughout his career, Dr. Jennings has been a leader and innovator in the field of psychiatric medicine, both in his clinical practice and research activities. With an emphasis on psychopharmacology and integrative care, he applies decades of experience to promote lasting recovery for every individual under his care.

Education and Expertise

Dr. Tim Jennings obtained his M.D. degree in 1990 from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Memphis, after which he completed his psychiatric residency at D.D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Augusta, Georgia. Dr. Jennings’ distinguished military career saw him serve as the division psychiatrist for the 24th and 3rd Infantry Divisions as well as the chief of psychiatry at Winn Army Hospital in Fort Stewart, Georgia.

Following his military service, he spent 25 years in private practice. In 2022, Dr. Jennings took on the role of chair of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health at Liberty University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Lynchburg, Virginia. He boasts of multiple professional certifications, including his board certification in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, master psychopharmacologist certification by the Neuroscience Education Institute, and licenses to practice medicine in Tennessee, North Carolina, and Virginia.

  • Held esteemed positions as the President of the Tennessee and Southern Psychiatric Associations
  • Member of the American Medical Association, American Psychiatric Association, Southern Psychiatric Association, and the American Association of Christian Counselors
  • Founder and president of “Come and Reason Ministries,” a non-profit Christian ministry based in Chattanooga, Tennessee
