Family Integration Program in Florida

Board-Certified Christian Mental Health Treatment

Honey Lake Clinic has the right people to help you start your journey to wholeness. We’re ready to help.

Our family intensive retreats are offered to families toward the middle of patients’ stays with us. Families are encouraged to bring the whole nuclear family, with the exception of young children under 10. Generally, these faith-based family intensive retreats take place from lunchtime on Wednesday until 5:00 pm on Friday. Families stay on-site at Honey Lake Clinic, and we provide all meals and snacks.

participants in a family integration program talk with a therapistThe family works with multiple therapists doing a mix of psychoeducational, experiential, and family therapy sessions throughout the day. The family is given homework to do as a group in the evening. The name “intensive” describes the process very well. Family members put in as much work on themselves, relationships, and learning as the patients in our program do. Pastors James or Summerlyn provide morning devotionals and other pastoral care as needed. This program was developed to help adolescents and their families continue the success of their treatment as they transition home.

Benefits of Our Intensive Family Therapy Retreat

Our intensive family therapy retreats offer a safe and supportive environment for families to work together and foster growth. Our model allows our staff to provide more intensive intervention during the two-day session, helping family members build the skills necessary for successful relationships. This intensive structure also provides an opportunity for us to better understand the dynamics of how the patient’s behavior has affected their family and vice versa.

Our intensive retreats are designed to help families build a foundation for continued healing long after the patient returns home. At the end of the intensive retreat, families will have a better understanding of how they interact with each other, techniques for managing difficult behavior, and strategies for maintaining a healthy family environment. We believe that this approach is one of the most effective ways to promote lasting change.
