Aftercare is a critical component of any treatment program.
The role our aftercare services play is crucial. Establishing a new, healthier lifestyle takes time. Implementing new skills and incorporating new strategies in our residential treatment setting is one thing; maintaining those disciplines back in real-world dynamics is an entirely different arena—one in which additional support is vitally important.

Patients who’ve suffered with an addiction or a mental health condition often struggle in many other aspects of their lives. Some have alienated family and friends, lost jobs or their place of residence, or have legal issues. Because each individual’s circumstances are unique, Aftercare planning at Honey Lake Clinic begins when you enter treatment, and continues throughout your treatment to ensure your recovery continues as you return to life’s routines.
You will meet someone in our Aftercare Program during your first week at Honey Lake Clinic. During this first meeting, we will work with you, gathering information on the kind of support you’ll need when you return home.

You will meet weekly with your Aftercare Counselor during your treatment program. Because everyone’s needs are different, these weekly check-ins help ensure things are progressing and on schedule for when you are discharged. Some people have providers already, with whom appointments need to be scheduled. For those who need providers, our Aftercare Department looks into our extensive network of therapists and providers around the world to offer suggestions to you, and then to set up introductions.

If you wait until after your care to think about your aftercare, you’re too late. Finding the right doctor, the right therapist, the right support group, getting all the I’s dotted and T’s crossed, insurance benefits verified and coverages applied, referrals in place, appointments calendared—these things don’t happen instantaneously. They happen when the legwork has been done. We’re here to help you through the entire process, to health and wholeness.

While you normally think of aftercare planning as having things in place before you leave—doctors, therapists, support groups and so on—our Aftercare Department is also there to help you with any other post-residential-treatment concerns you have.
In some cases, our Aftercare counselors have been called upon to assist patients in communicating with their employers, navigating complex insurance questions or obstacles, locating churches, discovering devotionals, Bible studies and small groups, and more.

Our team of licensed and experienced professionals have developed an extensive network of aftercare options, across the country and around the world. These options include providers, therapists, support groups, continued out-patient treatment programs, service organizations and materials, all working together to help YOU succeed.

A growing family of HLC Alumni, the Net provides ongoing support after your on-campus experience, encouraging each another in establishing and strengthening our connections upward, inward, and outward.

(Tuesdays 7pm EST and Thursdays 9pm EST)

The continuum of care is emphasized from your initial conversations with Honey Lake Clinic. While you are a patient at Honey Lake, the conversation continues with staff on campus, encouraging you to take advantage of continued support and resources when you get home.
Our alumni program is emphasized during the weekend encounters every 3 weeks. There is an alumni form each of our patients fill out with options to participate in various aspects of our alumni programming. Before you leave the on-campus experience, you will have the opportunity to get on a Zoom meeting and experience what we call the NET. Within 3-5 days of your discharge, you will hear from our Alumni Director, Pastor John Panico offering support, encouragement, information, and more.
